Saturday September 3rd

Welcome to our first Barrhill Flower Show!

Agricultural and Craft shows are events enjoyed by adults and children around the world - help us to make ours a success by entering one or more classes and/or joining us on the day.  And remember, children's classes are free, so they can enter as many as they have time for, gaining more chances of winning a prize!

An event like this really is 'the more, the merrier', so spread the word amongst your friends and rivals, local or further afield, and challenge them to participate!

Please do come along and take part, and we look forward to seeing all your entries.

Some way off as yet but you will need to plan ahead for your entries!

Details of the flower show are in the events section of the website.

Barrhill Community Action Plan

McKenzie Wilson Consultants have been appointed to update the Barrhill Community Action Plan. In the coming weeks they will be collecting information from a variety of sources in order to produce the plan. One of the main sources will be the residents of the Barrhill community. If you were unhappy with any part of the old Action Plan then make sure that you make your opinions known. The Action Plan should be for the whole community not just the few who are active in the community even when they have its best interests at heart.

The consultants, along with local Barrhill organisations, will be available in Barrhill Memorial Hall on Saturday 23rd January between 1000 and 1530 to collect any remaining forms or help people to complete the questionnaire. They will also be happy to offer any advice or discuss any issues relating to the village and the Community Action Plan.

We may have had no say in the coming of the windfarms but we do have a voice in how the funds can be used to benefit Barrhill. The Action Plan is necessary as any funding applications require us to have one.

Some ideas that have been created that could be included in the action plan are outlined in the document Arecleoch Barrhill Tourism Strategy which can be viewed by clicking the link.
